I, John Sager being of sound mind and necessary do make and establish this to be my last wil l and testament and I do hereby appoint Jacob Hauck if he shall survive my death, but if othe rwise then I appoint Eber Transe in his stead as executor to carry into effect the following:

First, it is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses to be fully paid.

Second, I will to my beloved wife Magdaline Sager the homestead on which I now reside viz, th e north half of the southeast quarter of section 2 in town 4 north, range 10 east and the nor thwest quarter of the northwest quarter of section 11 in town 4 north, range 10 east, to hav e and to hold for her own use and behoof as also all my personal effects of whatever nature d uring her natural life giving her no right to dispose of any real or personal effects but fo r her own use, and upon her death

Third, upon condition my son Eli Sager shall during my lifetime and that my wife remain wit h and provide for the sustainance of myself and wife so long as either she or myself shall li ve, that then after our death said Eli is to have the above real estate and all remaining per sonal property of whatever nature upon the payment to my other son John Sager the sum of $10 0 being his full portion with what he has already received and to my dauther Catherine Riggle sperger $300 in notes of hand being her full portion with that formerly received. If mysel f or wife shall depart this life before our said son Eli shall arrive at lawful age then an d in that case the executor shall become his guardian by appointment or the court shall if El i refuse to elect a guardian appoint some discreet and disinterested person for him.

Sawyer of Kosciusko County, Indiana...appoint my son John Sawyer of Kosciusko Coun ty, Indiana my true and lawful attorney to transact for me the following business...to take p ossession of a certain tract of land of which I am seized in Richland County, Illinois...to c ollect for me the rents due and owing me on said land, also to sell all cattle, horses and ot her stock or property belonging to me on said farm whcih contains 120 acres and is now tenant ed by Anthony R. Barker [Note: formerly Anton Rieglesberger, husband of Mary's daughter, Cath erine]...if he shall see fit to dispose of said tract of land by selling the same and makin g to the purchaser a deed...
