One rainy afternoon as I was reading an article in Good Housekeeping about long-lost relatives, I realized I knew very little about my family history. Armed with only the name of a Grandfather I'd never met and RootsWeb.com, I began my journey into the fascinating world of genealogy. After a couple days I had several names dating back to the early 1900's but no clue if they were even my relatives; I drafted a letter to my Aunt, and within a few more days I had five pages detailing many of the names I had seen in my research. Seeing that I was on the right track only made me want to learn more, and I have now traced many names back as early as the 1600's!

As it is a long process, filled with many brick walls and unanswered questions, I thought it might be nice to create a place to share it with whomever might be interested. I am most definitely an ameture and am probably making a lot of mistakes. I hope that sharing this information with others might lead to learning correct information or additional details. If you find anything that is incorrect or have anything to add, please contact me!
